Goood Bye, Sandy

It's a big job, she's done it so well for so long, and she deserves a break and the opportunity to spend more time with her family. But I can't help but be saddened to learn of about the retirement of Justice Sandra Day O'connor. Her appointment was a historic first and it certainly meant a lot to me at the time. It is doubtful that her successor will be able to fill her shoes since she wears petite pumps, not favored by most men.

(In full disclosure, since I am an ethical blogger, I must inform you that Sandy and I are fraternity brothers. In law school I pledged the only fraternity, Phi Delta Phi, that could boast that all of the Supremes, past and at that time, present, were among its members.)
